living christian

A Christian follows Jesus whose life is formed by a relationship with God whom Jesus revealed to the world, when he took on flesh, lived, died, and then was raised from the dead, so that in him all things might be made new. Hence, the New Testament. Christians love God with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength and have the desire to obey Him as He instructed. Afterall, all God wanted was for His children to love, praise, worship, and obey Him.

It seemed simple back in Biblical times but as for today, it's definitely a lot harder than most people think.
Christians want to please God in being obedient to him always. I will use myself as an example. Before finding faith, I swore like a truck driver in traffic. All I ever did was think negatively and beat myself up all the time. I blamed anyone but myself for things that went wrong in my life. Now, I have to be constantly mindful of my thoughts, words, and actions. I still struggle remembering that I am human still and it's in my nature to occasionally drop the "f" bomb or lash out on our kids. Since becoming a Christian and finding faith in God, i know I am still loved for every mistake I make because I pray and ask for forgiveness and asking for guidance on how I can be more mindful and obedient to him. So far, things have been pretty easy-going. I'm not saying those with illness need to stop taking their medicine and find God but to just simply stay mindful.

Right now, you may be christian or you can be spiritually dead (more on what that means below). When you make the decision to follow and believe in Christ, you are Redeemed and saved. Isn't that wonderful? Isn't it amazing how God can love that much?

Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.”
- Luke 11:23

According to scripture, all humans are born spiritually dead because of the sin nature they inherit from Adam and eve. However, Christs' atonement can redeem people from spiritual dead through faith, repentance, and obedience to the gospel.

The Apostle Paul said, " Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else.
But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus. So God can point to us in all future ages as examples of the incredible wealth of his grace and kindness toward us, as shown in all he has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus.
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. 10 For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago."

Will you take the leap of faith?
